Best recipe for ground turkey breast? I have a couple packs in the freezer and want to make hubby something new. I always do chili, tacos, turkey burgers.. The usual ground turkey recipes...
Does anyone have any recipes they would be willing to share for ground turkey breast? |
I found this recipe online, tried it, and although it was good, it was "missing something". I think the next time I make it I will add a dash of cayenne, just to jazz it up a bit.
Turkey Marsala Casserole
• 2 medium onions, chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 20 ounce package of ground turkey breast
• 1 T olive oil
• Salt and pepper (don’t be shy here)
• 16 ounce box elbow macaroni
• 14 ounce can beef broth
• ¾ cup Marsala wine
• ½ cup flour
• ½ cup water
• 4 ounce jar of roasted red peppers, chopped
• 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Preheat the oven to 375
Boil the macaroni in plenty of boiling water, to package instructions, but leaving a little on the “al dente” firm side. Drain.
Meanwhile, brown the meat, onions and garlic in oil, with salt and pepper, until meat is cooked and onion is tender. Drain.
Bring beef broth and Marsala wine to a boil. Mix flour and water together and add slowly to liquid, whisking and returning to a boil after each time you add some. You want to thicken the mixture to a consistency of gravy.
Mix the meat mixture, the broth, the macaroni, the peppers, ½ cup of the cheese together. Load into a sprayed 9x13 baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and put into the preheated oven for an hour.
Remove cover, sprinkle with remaining cheese, and heat for 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. |
I want to cook a 2 lb turkey breast in the crockpot with dressing. Need a recipe & cook hours? I want to use my mom's dressing recipe and put some of the dressing in the crock pot. Will that be okay to put the dressing in the crock pot or should I just use the oven for the dressing. I don't want to over cook the turkey breast and want to keep it moist. How long should I cook the turkey breast for. Should I buy a bone in or boneless turkey breast. Any recipes will be appreciated. |
Use the oven for dressing.
Using the crock pot is easy just put a large thing 24 oz of turkey gravy and 16 oz or 2 cans of chicken broth (mixed together) where the liquid is more viscous. Add 1 stalk of celery sliced, 1/6 purple or white onion (fine chop)(Carrots optional). , add Celery seed, sage, salt, pepper, paparika
Place Breast in pot cover with liquid and cook on low in crock pot about 11 hours adding additional liquid as needed to cover breast. Bone in retains a better flavor and more juice but boneless is easier to deal with in the crock pot. Remember to keep it covered in the sauce or it will dry out.
This is no recipe I pulled out of a book but I have used it and like it alot. Good luck
Add: Crock pot times vary check at low after 8 hours with a thermometer. |
Smoked Turkey Breast - Where can I find a recipe for smoking a turkey breast in an electric H2O smoker? Thanks I have a simple electric H2O smoker. I'd like to try smoking a turkey breast but need a recipe. Thank you! |
| I do this quite often. What l like to do is mix some fresh ground pepper and garlic salt up into soft butter. Make a slit on either side of the skin way down low and use a rubber spatula to insert this mixture up under the skin. A bone in turkey breast takes about 6 hours at 225 in my smoker. You want your bird to get to an internal temp of around 170-180. The best thing to get is a remote thermometer so you can monitor the bird with out having to open the lid and let all of the heat out. www.cookshack.com has an excellent forum to research and or ask questions. |

Anyone have a recipe for boneless turkey breast in the crockpot? I have two mid sized boneless, skinless turkey breasts (pkg says "tenderloins") that I would like to make in the crockpot tomorrow. I eat a fairly low calorie diet, so can't be a recipe smothered in cheese! Any suggestions? |
I cook turkey breasts in my crock pot all the time, and I love to use Campbell's Healthy Request Low fat & sodium "Cream of Mushroom with Garlic" soups. (Or any other healthy request flavor) Just add 2 cans to the turkey in the crock pot. add enough water to cover. cook on high til it falls apart!
It's DELICIOUS, low in fat and calories!! and you can use the remaining "gravy" on potatoes if you like! |

DO you have a good turkey breast cutlet recipe? I normally just throw them in the crock pot with a little chicken broth and mushrooms... but I'm in the mood for something different.
How do you make them? Thanks! |
Dear Mom,
Beat an egg white well with a little water to thin if needed. Mix together 1 C flour, 1 tsp salt and as much pepper as you like, then tip the mixture out onto a plate. Dip the cutlets in the egg, coating both sides. Then coat with the flour mix. Melt a couple of tablespoons of butter in a fry pan, add a T of cooking oil to help keep the butter from burning. Fry the cutlets keeping the heat fairly low. You should get a lovely golden coating on the outside, and the inside should be done but not overcooked. And if the cutlets were cut across the grain of the meat, they will be tender enough to cut with a fork.
Salt, pepper and butter. It's amazing how good they can make things taste! |
Recipe and instructions for preparing a Turkey breast for Thanksgiving? Its just my wife and I this year for Thanksgiving, so, I'd like a good recipe for preparing a turkey breast. The ones I've seen in the store here are about 3-5 pounds.
Also, in the cooking instructions, could you please advise how we might need to adjust the cooking time and/or temperature for the altitude (the city we live in is at 8,600 feet above sea level).
Thanks! |

Can I substitute a roaster chicken breast for a turkey breast in a slow cooker recipe? I have a recipe that calls for a turkey breast, but I couldn't find a breast that was small enough for my 5-qt. cooker. I did find roaster breasts, which are a little smaller than turkey breasts. It took up most of the slow cooker. Anyone want to weigh in? |
| Should be just fine, your cooking time will probably be slightly shorter, but you should never go by times, go by temperature. Hopefully you have a meat thermometer, |
